A few weeks ago my wife and I attended a concert and had the most uninterrupted alone time since becoming parents a few years ago. And it was incredible. We love our kids and we love being parents, but man… It was incredible.

​As we walked to the concert venue, took some pictures and ate dinner by the Ohio River that runs along Cincinnati, and settled into our seats we were excited and eager for the show.

The opener came on and did a great job. The seats filled in. And during an announcement we were informed that we were a part of the largest ticketed tour in Christian music history, which was pretty cool.

Then the show began, and the opening song was one by the artist titled, “The Jesus Generation.”

And I cried.

Yep. I’ll admit it. I couldn’t stop wiping tears from my eyes during this song.

It’s a song that I’ve heard before, and compared to other ones from this artist, I wouldn’t even say it’s one of my favorites (due to there being so many to choose from) and yet… It hit me very hard at that moment.

The artist is Forest Frank if you haven’t picked up on that already, and we were at the Jesus Generation tour, near the end of its 29 show run.

As this song went on, and I looked around and saw kids, parents, grandparents, and everyone in between singing every word, I couldn’t help but be moved.

I couldn’t help but ask myself, is it really happening?

Is revival really happening? Here? Now? In our world? In this generation?

Maybe you don’t want to call it a revival, maybe you’d be more comfortable calling it a “move of God” or an "outpouring" or something like that, that’s fine. But regardless of what you want to call it, something is happening, and it’s big.  

The data is in, the studies are showing it over and over and over again, that young people (particularly young men) are returning to the church in droves. That young people more than ever before are open to conversations about God and what they believe.

Something is happening.

And yes, Forest is doing an incredible job with his music and influence being a part of this movement, but it isn’t just limited to area concerts. It’s happening at college campuses, youth groups, and on social media as well.

And regardless of how you feel about Forest’s music and revivals, I just don’t want you to miss out on what God might be doing. Don’t blink. Jump in. Say yes. Lead the way. Something new is here. Now is the time to go all in on devotion to Jesus. Nothing else matters more than this.
