The Holiday That Changes Every Day

Easter Sunday.
Don’t you just love Easter? The pastel colors. The delicious food. The awesome church service. The Easter egg hunts. Everyone is fitted up.
It’s such a good day.
But… it can’t just be a day.
Easter is a day that has to change every day.
If you aren’t aware, Easter Sunday is the day that we celebrate and recognize the resurrection of Jesus. The unprecedented historical moment when a body that was dead in a grave for three days breathed once again. A day that atheists and the Roman soldiers of that day lost sleep over and cannot explain away because it was proven time and time again that this really took place. A man was dead, and He suddenly was alive once more.
That in and of itself is amazing and unheard of. But there is more to Easter too. This man wasn’t just any man or a magician who pulled off the craziest trick of all time. But this was God in the flesh. And through His death and His resurrection He defeated death, hell, and the grave forever. What does that mean? That means that anyone who believes in what took place on Easter two thousand years ago can be saved and resurrected and eternally secure through this incredible and powerful display of God’s heart for the world.
This means that those who believe in Jesus don’t have to fear death, hell, or anything in this life because they are protected, fulfilled, and secure in this life and the life to come.
Isn’t that powerful?
Easter changes everything.
It is the holiday that has to change every single day.
Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we are being resurrected in our daily lives.
When we identify with what Jesus did on Easter Sunday, we get to step into the resurrection story. We cross over from spiritual death to spiritual life. We begin to step into all that we’re called to be. We begin to experience the joy, peace, freedom, and abundant life that Jesus promised to those who follow Him.
All because of Easter Sunday.
The holiday that changes every day.
If it wasn’t for Easter, there would be no Christianity. Jesus would be seen as a martyr among many others who died for a cause that He believed in, but that would be it. He would be seen as just a good teacher, example, and person. But because of Easter, the Christian Church is alive and well and contrary to what you might hear, it’s growing in the world unlike anything that has ever been seen.
Because of Easter.
The holiday that changes every day.
Those who believe in the Risen Savior do not stay dead.
Our lives come back to life. Only because and through Him.
Today, and every day, step into the life of someone who was once dead, but because of Jesus has been made truly alive.
Let’s end by reflecting on a few verses…
“25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die”
John 11:25
“3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead”
1 Peter 1:3
